What is Milni

Milni which literally means introduction is an Indian wedding tradition where the Bride’s family is introduced to their counterparts from the Groom’s family. This is the first ritual that takes place between both the families after reaching the venue.

This rasam traditionally take 15-20 minutes but it can also take a little long time depending on the numbers of family members that will take part in it. In this rituals the girls family gives shagun to groom’s family as a token of love and respect.  In Sikh weddings, there will be prayer known as Ardas, before the Milni begins.
